The growth of a product concept
Maintaining a beautiful roof with solar energy must be possible
Many people are interested in solar panels but cringe at the thought of “those ugly things on the roof.” Bart Allard and Paul de Jong had both been working on this issue independently since 2012. Bart, with a background in industrial design and a passion for integrating electronics into plastics, developed a prototype for a solar roof tile. Meanwhile, Paul, who has a background in electrical engineering, electronics, and a strong commitment to sustainable energy, had developed several concepts for solar roof panel tiles.

From Development Phase to the Founding of Solinso BV
The first Solinso prototypes are made
The journey began with sole proprietorships conducting exploratory material research. In 2014, various plastics were tested by KIWA Automotive for UV exposure and moisture resistance. The adhesion of adhesive connections to both the plastic and the glass plate was also thoroughly tested. Additionally, fire resistance tests were conducted in accordance with Dutch building regulations, which helped narrow down material options. By 2015, a working prototype was completed, robust enough to withstand 25 years of weather conditions. The first customers were secured, and Solinso BV was officially founded. In October 2015, the first Mystiek project was completed.
Laying the foundations
From "Kitchen Table" to a Production Facility
An unused 30m² warehouse space becomes the first production site. Mystiek panels are manually assembled, one by one. The first projects are completed, and Solinso begins to receive an increasing number of requests. It becomes clear that Solinso must prepare for scaling up.

Expansion of Product Portfolio and Internationalization

The Mystiek products are predominantly installed on the roofs of homeowners who place great emphasis on the aesthetic appeal of their entire property. In the spring of 2019, Solinso introduces two new Mystiek products designed to fit popular flat clay tiles, namely Monier Tuile Plat and Wienerberger Actua10LT.

In July 2019, a significant milestone is achieved: Solinso Mystiek is installed on 500 roofs.
Germany discovers Solinso
The first Solinso prototypes are made
Germany has also discovered Mystiek, and sales to our eastern neighbors are steadily increasing. To cater to the German market, Solinso introduces a new product in 2020 that is compatible with the Nelskamp G-10 roof tile.
